Inwood Summer Festival - Sun 7/14 - 10am-2pm

The Fall Harvest Festival proved to be a hit, so there will be a summer festival! I am excited to kick this off and bring the residents, community, and businesses together to celebrate the summer. We can still use volunteers - this is free event that is completely volunteer-run! If you are part of a neighborhood organization and would like to network with the community, please contact me.

Activities include: games, arts & crafts, kids road rally, plant tours, music circle, storytime, knitting circle, facepainting, and much more! At 11am, FDNY will bring a firetruck and their Mobile Fire Safety Education.

Children's Clothing Recycle/Resale - Coming in Sept

Need to do some spring cleaning of your kids' closet and get a start on the next season's clothing at a bargain? You can do this while supporting the Indian Road Playground Sand Fund. Donate clean children's clothing for Friends of Indian Road Playground to resale on Sat 5/11 at Isham Park. We will set up along the walking path between Broadway and Park Terrace West just off Isham Street (near the Farmer's Market). Contact us to arrange drop-off.

Volunteers Welcome

We need additional volunteers to help plan and organize new, exciting activities for the neighborhood in the coming year. We need people to:

  • organize and promote events
  • take pictures
  • provide translations on flyers
  • update the website
Do you have an idea for an event? Use this sign up sheet to submit your ideas.

Donate Online

If you have visited the Indian Road Playground, played with your children there and socialized with other parents/families, then you are already a ‘member’. The FIRP will provide funds for the replacement of sand for the sand box in coming years, as we have done since the group’s inception in 1993. But we need your help raising funds for the sand and to pay for additional playground events, such as the opening festivities.

Please click on our “donate here” link if you would like to make an on-line donation to the FIRP via PayPal.
